The product which is being offered here is the high quality live Banded Crickets (Gryllodes sigillatus). These high quality crickets are the world’s most commonly used live food for feeding to lizards and other reptiles.
Gryllodes sigillatus, the Tropical House Cricket, Indian House Cricket or Banded Cricket, is a small cricket probably native to Southwestern Asia, but has spread throughout tropical regions worldwide. The Banded Bricket is raised commercially for feeding certain pets such as reptiles, birds, amphibians, and insectivorous arthropods.
The crickets should be unpacked as soon as they arrive, transfer them into a suitable container. Cut several egg trays to suit your container and place them on their sides which provide an ideal space for the crickets to perch. Add a saucer of Progrub on the floor of the container, place some sliced carrot in to provide moisture, or if you prefer you can also provide drinking water or solid water gel. Crickets should be kept at an ideal temperature of 18°C – 22°C in a dark area. A good video guide showing and explaining the keeping and breeding conditions for this species can be watched here.
